The dental program focuses on both prevention and treatment of dental disease in addition to oral health education and awareness for children and adults of all ages.
What Our Patients Think ...One parent, Ed—who has been an IWS patient for 15 years—accompanied his son, Raul, to the IWS enclosed dental operatory. After the cleaning, Raul boasted a bright smile. Ed relayed to IWS staff how grateful he is that Raul can receive a dental checkup where he feels safe and secure because Raul is sensitive to noise, and dental checkups can be stressful. Ed has been so pleased with his family’s care at IWS and has thanked the staff for all services. Raul was first screened for developmental delay at IWS and continues to receive the informed and compassionate care he needs—medical, dental, and developmental delay therapy—all right here at the Angel Harvey Family Health Center.
Healthy Children, Healthy Smiles: The Foundation of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry is the largest national dentist-led foundation dedicated to children’s oral health. The charitable giving arm of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), HSHC has given or committed more dollars since 2010 to help children than any other dental charity. Since 2010 HSHC has donated more than $4.5 million to support access to care initiatives that have provided Dental Homes to more than 320,000 children in 29 states, plus the District of Columbia.
